Embrace the mundane, live life consciously!
Every day we wake up, take a shower, brush, get kids ready, pack lunch, head to work, head home, cook dinner, go to bed…and wake up to do it all over again. We get so focused on the routines and making a living that we forget to make a life.
We tend to forget that in the routine, life happens. We always say where did the time go?! The older we get the faster time flies.
It gets even more glaring when you see your child grow… you see them every day and just don’t think about it, then ... bam! All of a sudden you have a 10 year old and think it has been 10 years? What the have I been doing for the past 10 years?
I get so used to life’s routines, get on auto pilot and forget to actually live. Life is happening around us every day. We have to make the deliberate decision daily to live conscious.
We owe ourselves the responsibility to ensure that our lives have not passed us by. Life happens in the mundane! In the everyday routines.
Living conscious requires us to be actually PRESENT in our lives. There are times I see pictures, I remember the event but not the feeling of actually being there. Like it was someone else’s life. This happened so many times that I had to take a step back.
If you are going through tough times, don’t forget that “this too shall pass”! Stop and smell the roses. I had a friend that did that one day we were taking a walk, she literally stopped to smell some flowers.
I was going through so much at the time that I thought she was just wasting time!!! I thought back to that day some time later and it just dawned on me how many things I may have missed just because I was in such a hurry and I was not present!
Don’t miss the smiles, laughter, hugs, kisses and moments with family and loved ones. They say, you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.
We should not wait till it’s too late to appreciate what we have. It became even more glaring to me, hearing about two friends who passed away recently.
Dreams require real life execution, real life execution happens in the mundane.
