Taking care of your mental health

May is mental health month. Taking care of our mental health is as important as our physical or even more so. The importance can be downplayed by those who have not experienced it first hand.

After I had my baby, I was asked various assessment questions at every single appointment, from my family doctor, to my gynecologist, and health nurse. I don't remember the questions being this intense with my older son, which means more attention is being paid to various forms of mental health including Post-Partum Depression (PPD) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Early detection goes a long way and getting help is very important. When we have loved ones suffering it can be difficult and sometimes we may not know how to help them. How do you help a loved one with PTSD?

I came across this article and I hope you find it useful:
