White Coats and Velvet boots
Winter needs to be over already! But I got the perfect winter wonderland backdrop this week. It is still snowing as I type! Yay Canada!!!
I am wearing a white coat I got from raiding my friend's closet. For the record I shop anywhere and everywhere. From consignment to Michael Kors, as long as it is my style and it fits! That is the best way to find one-of-a-kind classic items that remain in style and in your closet for a very long time.
I'm very wary of wearing white coats. As much as I love the classy-luxurious look, I hate getting make-up stains all over it, especially on the collar area. My secret to keeping make-up off my white coat is simple - accessorize with a scarf to protect your coat!
How many women have bought those boots that look so good in the store, and realize after one wear that; they are extremely uncomfortable! I've been there! And no matter how pairs of socks you wear your toes are freezing and worst of all they have absolutely no grip and are basically a fall waiting to happen!
These boots I must say are not too bad. I can wear them for up to 8 hours (when I'm seating for most it), before I need to rip them off. They have some grip but they are definitely not built for snowy slippery conditions. You can only make a trip from the door to the car and back, that's it!
I have always loved velvet and I have had these boots for a couple of years. And guess what velvet is trending again right now. It goes to show that no matter what the current fashion trend is, you should buy what you really love. After all it is your hard earned money!
I kept the rest of the outfit simple with black leggings and a green Cowell neck tunic and of course a reversible blanket scarf to keep me warm and protect my coat!
As always, the world is your runway and don't forget to wear confidence on your sleeves!
